Hi, let me introduce myself. My name is Harry 'H' Barnett. Along with Dave West we are mounting a stand to have our, & therefore your and your children, Civil Liberties restored. Our aim is to get the 12 million smokers (although our surveys of some 40,0000 signatures, state that 30% are non smokers) not to vote Labour, in the next election. It seems the only time they consider the voters is when they want your vote. Its time to show them that Enough is Enough. We need your support in this fight. I will endeavour to answer all Emails. SmokeScreen-online is a site dedicated to all of our Civil Liberties. The current blanket smoking Ban is an affront to all of our civil liberties regardless of whether or not you are a smoker. It has taken away your right to chose for yourself. The sort of thing normally reserved for children who are not capable of making rational choices.

The smoking ban is just the tip of the iceberg Yet another smokescreen by the politicians who seem to be under the impression that they are voted into power to run our lives and our social lives instead of running the country in a way that enhances our lives. Why is it that whenever a party gets into power everyone lives in fear of their policies.? Will my job be safe'? 'will I keep my home'? etc etc etc.We are fed a diet of lies lies and yet more lies. While we have all been talking about the rights (if there are any) and wrongs of the smoking ban we failed to see past the smokescreen of this policy.

At the same time another law was being slipped quietly through Parliament.In the very near future we will all be liable to have our D.N.A. taken for the most trivial of offences. Which sooner or later will make criminals of us all and therefore we will have no right to expect any rights. Do MP's not drop litter or overstay on parking bays? WHY do they want all of our D.N.A.? What are they going to use it for? Apparently its on the pretence that if we slip up in this minefield of petty laws that will mean that we will commit serious crimes in the future. Does anyone seriously believe this to be true. Even our politicians cannot believe this to be true.If they do then they should not be voted for in the future. They don't even bother to give us a feasible reason for all of this. It is simply a case of 'yours not to reason why, just do as we say'.

On this site we will endeavour to point out some of the things you can do to ensure that your children & your children's children will have some vestige of freedom in their lives. The main thing is to use your vote wisely. It is invaluable in the fight for Civill Liberties.The only time the politicians are interested in you, is when they want your vote. There are 12million of you out there who hold the smokers vote.12million votes!!Can you imagine what a particular party would promise to get hold of them.? Consider the fact that there were only somewhere in the region of 25million votes cast in the last general election ( shared amongst all the major parties) then it will give you some indication of the power you, the smoker, holds in your collective vote. That is more than the votes that got the present government in with a landslide..

Add to this 12million votes, the votes of all those others who are sick of being lied to and seeing all the other Civil Liberties that are being eroded with one pretence or another, i.e. security (get out of Iraq & we won't need so much home security; France & Spain saw the light). We are all now aware that there were no WM D's. Yet another smokescreen we were fed. Now they are saying we are all obese so we must diet because it is a strain on the NHS, WE ARE DRINKING TOO MUCH , already they are attacking yet another of our social pleasures. Personally speaking if I have had too much to drink I am the first to know it, when I feel somebody standing on my fingers. I don't need my MP to tell me that!! If I am ill I go to my GP NOT my MP. ( somebody should explain the difference to them) etc etc etc.

So adding these votes to the 12 million smokers, we are talking something nearing 20million collective votes!! The politicians will sit up & listen then!

We have some ideas on how to get these votes into a block vote, but we are hoping to get suggestions from you, the voter. Or maybe George Galloway could use these votes to get some notice taken, via the Respect Party. At the moment he seems one of the few politicians to tell it how it is. (Watch his show,The Real Deal on Raj TV on Sky. This is a man who knows all about the dirty tricks brigade!) For instance if all Libertarians were to donate just a one off £1, that would put some £20 million in the fund. Can you imagine how many peerages could be bought for that sum?

As stated, we feel that the smoking ban is only the tip of the iceberg. We have cameras on every corner, to spy on every movement in our daily lives, movements that however innocent are recorded & stored for future use. Children are being biometrically tested and details filed without the knowledge or permission of parents. The ultimate insult . Our children can be programmed WITHOUT US HAVING A SAY. OUR CHILDREN, UNTIL NOW, HAVE BEEN THE MOST PRECIOUS THING IN OUR LIVES.WE HAVE NEVER, EVER, TRUSTED POLITICIANS, BUT NOW WE CANNOT TRUST TEACHERS TO SAFEGUARD OUR CHILDREN'S FUTURE. We are now living in a completely controlled country..Is this really how you wish to live or how you wish your children to live? I SUSPECT NOT. REMEMBER YOU HAVE A COLLECTIVE VOTE OF 20 MILLION, please use it and say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. Bombard your MP's website for a start, for answers, and remember he works for you, for the time being!! Get him out of one of the 13 smoking bars in Westminster which are of course excempt from this draconian ban. Well they would excempt themselves would't they!!!

There are also the dangers to staff at pubs, clubs, restaurants etc that will be faced day in day out (see our news page tribute to JAMES OYEBOLA). These far outweigh the unproven dangers of second hand smoke to employees who would have the choice (a word that will probably soon be banned from the English language!!) whether or not to work in these establishments. If they were to choose not to, I am sure there will be enough people among the 12million smokers, who are unemployed, that would be willing to take these jobs, providing they did not have to take the very real risks of policing this stupid law.!!

Then, of course, we increasingly find that the Judiciary is becoming more & more under the yolk of the politicians, despite the prohibitive costs of justice, and for centuries, we have been led to believe that they are independent protectors of society. If only there were some "Judge John Deeds" left in the Judiciary and, to be fair, there may well be, but are they prepared to make their stand for freedom & democracy? We shall see. But, we feel, that among 12million voters there are many that feel, as we do, that ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.
